Born out of hope and resilience, Let Africa Live has grown into an internationally-recognized organization bringing education, vocational skills and opportunity to Congolese youth.
Let Africa Live was founded by Pastor Kubisa Sosthene Muzenende in March of 2000. A former secondary school teacher, he witnessed the devastating impact of armed conflict on young people in the DRC. Kubisa began LAV to provide vulnerable youth, including former child soldiers and victims of sexual violence, with education, psychological support and viable economic opportunities.

LAV offers supplementary education and 8 professional training programs, free of charge, for vulnerable Congolese children. Learn more about how we help these youth reclaim their lives and build their futures.
We work with international and local aid programs as well as Congolese citizens in rural areas to ensure our ability to bring vital resources to those who need it most.
With the support of our partners, we are also able to equip graduates with occupational resources and micro-grants, enabling them to invest in their own small enterprises and apply their newfound abilities.
In addition to our pilot center in the heart of the City of Bukavu, we have created rural outreach centers to help those who have been most heavily affected by militia violence.
We are grateful to the organizations around the world who have partnered with us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families in East Congo. These partners help us both financially and by providing materials for our training programs.
Through love, detraumatization therapy and vocational training, we provide young people with essential skills and healing. Our small class sizes ensure personalized attention, offering not just technical instruction but also vital counseling and psychological support to help students reintegrate into their communities.
Over the last 20+ years, we’ve made a direct impact on the lives of 4,000 Congolese youth. In turn, creating hope and opportunity for generations to come.
